Did you dropped tv remote control or some of the buttons stopped working properly? recently i came across both of these problems, lately my sister dropped the remote control on the ground accidentally the next minute remote stopped working, though i thought it was some connection rip of due to drop then i came to know the reason why remote stopped working below are things you need to know.
To Determine whether remote is working or not:
1. First of all change to new battery to make sure its problem with remote
2. Point your remote towards any camera either digital or your mobile phone camera and press few buttons, you can easily see the light flashing if the remote is working on your camera or mobile screen
If remote failed working due to dropping:
Most common failure in remote due to dropping is the ceramic crystal and the IR LED, though IR LED fails rarely its crystal that fails 90% of time when it is dropped very strongly, so replacing the crystal would solve the problem and it would cost some where between 1 - 5$.
If one or more buttons stops working:
1. It means your remote needs servicing because constant handling in the hands of the sweat, dust and moist forms a glue like residue on the button connector and circuit board which does not close the contact thus remote ain't works.
2. Some of the button lead would have worn out, its better to replace the connector lead.
