My first train journey experience :Indian railway

yes atlast i traveled in rail that too in my late 20's for first time in my life :) though i never use public transport for long distance travel most of the time we take cars but this year was something special i travelled a bit more frequent and i took BUS and TRAIN for the first time in my life which i never thought i would.
when ever i thought of trains i always remembered of over crowded passengers, people eating home made lunches in the train, talking to anons, and all kind of scamsters in trains, Phobia of missing trains, all portrayed in media which looked a bit odd to me,but my perception towards train journey changed during my first and second journey from Bangalore to Hubli and vice versa.

I cannot forget 18th Dec 2010 when i stepped in first time in the train "Bangalore- Hubli Intercity Express" at 1.15pm, though it is so weird that even in the morning of that day i never thought i would take the train all happened in just 2hours visited railway station and took a general tickets of unreserved compartments.

I did not know about booking system of railways at all, the jargon's like "Reservation", "Waiting List", "Sleeper Coach" "Berth", "Advanced Booking", "Tathkal", "RAC" was new and alien to me but in this due course of one week i mastered everything a little bit to some extent now i learn't how to where to and when to book tickets.

I traveled four times in the train during last week from Bangalore to hubli and vice versa and believe me i met many interesting people in the train and learnt so many thing during the journey and my perception and oddity towards the train travel changed completely in one word i can say u can meet all kind of people there and "Socialize responsibly" during the travel and exchange many ideas...

I came across a mid aged retired police officer who won many awards during his career he shared many of his interesting incidents off his life during the duty with us and many more fun filled conversation. i also met few artists who had given programs in national TV and radio and few many other interesting people.

What ever it is during this year i learn't how cheap it is to take public transport, i learn't trains are damn cheaper than bus or my car

My car costs= 3000(Disel) + 5000(my investment not calculating) + 1000(Misc)= 4000rs
Taking Bus costs = (Sleeper Ac) 595rs = 595rs(3 months back hubli)
Train Sleeper= ticket 203rs = 203 rs (while coming)
Train Regular = ticket 106rs = 106rs (while going)

ain't trains are Damn cheap??? trains are cheap because they are heavily subsidized at the cost of fright charges, and i like to thank my best friend RAGHAVENDRA RAIKER who insisted me always to take train instead of car which is other reason i took the train and between Trains are cheap, interesting to travel if you had never taken please try it once and between if you are regular train traveler do pen down ya comments.

though i had lots of things to write in my mind about my first rail journey experience i made the post short and simple.
