There's a myth surrounding about taking shower when u are sick or ill most Indian parents and 
even doctors to some extent say please do not bath until you are fine, just wash your self with wet towel soaked in hot water.

(because a guy from QA team got sick first) !! and one of my colleague said he has not taken bath from 3 days as doctor suggested not to.., i asked why he said he too don't know hmmmm weird isn't it? i am with the viral fever from sat evening but i am still taking bath but i am better than all other guys.
after a decent googling i came to know this urban legend exist even in other countries and after searching for a while i did not get any convincing answers about why we should not take bath when we are ill... what ever it is if any doctor or qualified person under th hood reading this post do share your opinion on this subject, i am still confused.

I was sick last week and hot water bath gave me relief and no way will I stop taking bath since my doc always suggested me to be clean unless its as bad a chikenguniya / Dengue!!!

earlier they used to say cover the person, but today doctors say that dont cover in high fevr, it was a misconception that sweating means fever is coming down.
Unless the fever is due to cold, Ialways take a bath evryday.
Quite the contrary. The body temperature has to be brought down and the best way is to take a cold shower. When my younger son had malaria and a temp of 106 degrees, he was laid on ice and then whenever the fever crossed 102, the pediatrician used to make him take a cold shower and the kid would shiver through it but come out feeling better as the temperature would have come down. Doctors today advise this and also keeping the room and the patient cool by not covering him or her up in blankets.
I don't see any harm because , many Doctors advice to keep cold bandage on the forehead to bring down temperature.
we cant have bath when sick but we surely can convert out pee to petrol!! :-)
