watches are obsolete! do you think so?

recently i asked myself a question when did i last wear my wrist watch? i asked this question because i came across my watch lying dormant with dead battery but the answer was simple i stopped using it from more than 8 years ago in 2002 when i got my first cell phone... and now a days i am feeling do we really require watch? we can see watch all over the place on mobile, on dvd players, on computers, on mp3 players, on office walls, in cars and almost every where.

but whenever i see a commercials of titan or any other watch i wonder how these watch industry i still surviving in this new era where many people stop using watches because i can see 70% of my friends and colleagues do not wear watches, though many people wear the watch for some special occasions some people where it for status quo and respect  and some wearing it for fashion ...

though its easy to check time in the wrist watch than digging the pocket for the mobile phone especially in the situations where we are in street driving cars or riding bikes, or examination hall writing exams but still something makes me think will cell or mobile phones obselete watches? what do you think?
