any one who own communities on orkut knows orkut forums miss important feature of searching posts inside the forum, me having a orkut community ( Explore the Unknown ) with 10k members and few thousand posts many times i found very painful while searching some topics which was few months or years old though google is master of search i don't know why they did not given such a important features in their orkut community forum.
after searching for a while on web in vain i found few people giving some scripts that can be used in Mozilla Firefox with grease monkey though using these kind of scripts are dangerous and insecure unless it is from a trusted person Google should implement a search feature in its orkut community forum for better usability.
and also orkut communities are the number one reason why orkut still survive in front of the face book because i can see there are many hardcore forum users who hangout whole day long not on the profile page but in the community discussing all day long being a owner of the one of the hot community forum on orkut below are few important other features i feel missing in orkut forum:
1. Forum search( to find good buried topics)
2. Ability to rate the thread
3. Ability for owner or moderator to close the off-topic threads
4. Nice editor to format the texts
5. Ability to move the important threads to the top
after being actively participating on the other discussion forums for more than 8 years above are the minimal and important features i consider that are very much required and missing in orkut forums
