Find and delete large mp3, zip and attachments files in gmail easily ?

Are you out of space in gmail and inbox size is growing like a mountain? then here is a quick tip on how to search and delete all the unwanted heavy files like mp3, video files, zip, rar, audio files etc, recently i saw that my gmail space was already 78% full as i rarely log into gmail web as i use gmail imap along with outlook express and it was expected as i am using my gmail account from almost 5years from now and it is one of my primary email id so i thought of clearing all the unwanted heavy forwards with attachments and videos so below is the simple method i used to free the space.

gmail gives you a luxury of retrieving any mails with specific attachments by using simple queries and to list the mail headers which satisfy the condition so to search and delete all the audio and video files you can submit the below query in the search bar in your gmail

"has:attachment (*.mp3 || *.avi || *.wm || *.mov || *.wmv )"

the query is simple and human understandable just add the extension *.mpeg or any other format extension if you have received those kind of files in your mailbox

to find and delete large documents and spreadsheets or any other files such as visio docs etc use below query

has:attachment (*.pdf || *.doc || *.docx || *.xls || *.xlsx || *.ppt || *.pptx )

Most of the time pdf, ppt and docs consumes most of our mailbox space

similarly to delete all the compressed or zipped attachments use below query
has:attachment (*.zip || *.rar || *.7z )

you can even add .cab, .iso etc to the above query according to your needs

now after applying the filter and searching you can easily delete the unwanted mail from your inbox note after deleting the mails make sure to empty the thrash to get back the space as gmail keeps deleted mails in the thrash for certain period of time to recover in case if we want it back
