Google cached web pages are different on google.com and co.in and other domains

Recently i noticed that google indexed pages of my website on google.com is different from the number of cached pages on google.co.in, google.co.uk and other google domains and i was surprised to see that it was not only with my website but it was the same case with most of the popular websites i checked.

the main google.com domain almost has the half index count compared to other regional or local google domain such as google.co.in, google.jp etc of my website just type google.com in the browser or click on go to google .com below the search box of the google.co.in webpage or your country specific google search domain and type "site:yourwebsite.com" and click search

below picture shows the google.com index count of my website

and below pic is the google index result of my website from google.co.in

and same is the case with other countries search index, this shows that google indexes pages country specific to show the relevant search results and i think that is the reason google webmaster tools contains an option in the settings to associate the website with the specific countries to target more traffic and by default this option is unlisted...

does this means that my website has better visibility for people searching from .co.in or .co.uk than google.com ? really i too dont know if any webmaster or SEO expert reading this do shed some light on this.
