Bloom Box energy Fuel Cell potential promising alternative to Powergird

recently a fuel-cell technology company Bloom Energy's founded by K.R. Sridhar made buzz by raising $400 million from investors like kleiner Perkins for his revolutionary fuel cell technology which is said to change the way energy can be produced in future and an alternative solution for power grids.

after a secretive a decade of R&D Bloomenergy's bloombox was operational on some top gun compaines like goolge, staples, fed-ex, ebay etc and according to ebay the company already saved $100,000 in electrical costs in nine months with 5 boxes installed and it has surpassed 5x times the energy generated by 3000 solar panels at its headquarters.

the box is said to consist of stack of ceramic disks made specially from white beach sand and coated with magic green and black inks and the disks are seperated by cheap alloy plates where has most of the other fuel cell technology said to use costly metals, now methane or other hydro carbons are passed from one side and oxygen from opposite side of the plate and the whole thing is said to be heated uptp 1000 deg celcius and electircity comes out and it is said that each plate produces enough electricity to lit one lightbulb and a stack of 64 such ceramic disks is enough to power a one house.

at present the cost of each bloom box comes around $700,000 to $800,000 and is not targeted for residential but in 5 or 10 years siridhar is estimated to bring down price of each bloom box to $3000 for residential market though some green company resident critics say it is not possible what ever it is, we should be proud that some one of Indian origin has made such a great accomplishment see the below video for more details and interview with sridhar the founder of bloom energy's
