Some of the videos in torrents are fake and virus infected be ware of those kind of videos!!! one 
of my friend downloaded a movie from torrent "The Twilight Saga New Moon 2009" but when he played on VLC it throwed error "use windows media player" but when he tired to open it on WMP it throwed same error but browser was opened but hopefully antivirus in the system(kaspersky) blocked the site saying it was a virus infected URL(website) and i even tried many players such as nero, powerdvd, winamp and many more but bottom line is the movie downloaded was actually fake and it was virus.
how to know whether the movies downloaded from torrent contains virus?
1. Most torrent formats play in vlc or wmp if it does not then it may be fake
2. If the file redirects to some browser or prompts to install license in wmp then it may be fake movie file.
Not all fake torrent files contains virus some are uploaded by antipiracy organizations to mislead or identify you when you click or download the file they may record your ip and even contact you for downloading copyrighted material and sue you.
recently my friend downloaded around 7 titles out of which 3 were fake and contained garbage data making 700mb of data downloaded as utter useless so guys next time you download a movie from torrents make sure to download file uploaded by reputed rippers.
