how to know which process has locked a file

Easily Delete Files and Folders Locked By Virus, spyware and other programs with the help of a free tool that can detect which program/process his holding or locking the file making it un-deletable and unlock it so that it can be easily deleted a tool called LockHunter comes to rescue.

recently i could not delete a folder in my office system see below pic and suspected it may be infected by virus and by googling i got this awesome tool and came to know that the IDE process was still running in background holding it

just download the tool from Here install it and you can see the option in the context menu as shown in below pic

just right click on the any file you want to delete and select the lockhunter option now you can get a tree like structure showing which process is having the lock on the folder see below pic

and best part of the tool is it works on all the windows operating system from 2000, xp to windows 7 and supports both 64 and 32bit OS and one thing to remember the tool is in beta stage so use it carefully and there is also portable version which does not require installation and does not integrate into context menu
